In the waning light of 2018, beneath a veil of restless yearning and creative constraint, I departed from the familiar halls of esteemed luthiers. Men and women of great craft, yes, but bound by the pallid repetition of the known. I had dwelt too long in that dim chamber, where vision languished and invention gasped for breath.  And so I resolved to awaken Figurehead. No offense is meant, though the words may wear a darker veil.

My pursuit of luthiery has been neither casual nor kind. It has taken me through quiet rooms and fevered nights, into the very sinew of the instrument. In that time, I’ve been entrusted with the care of guitars for the likes of Tim McGraw, Cyndi Lauper, Luis Miguel, Frank Ocean, Architects, Cannons, Ray Parker Jr, Los Bukis, and many more. Names that echo on stages and in strange, unseen places. These encounters shaped not only my craft, but my conviction: tone must haunt, feel must compel, and soul must be summoned—never manufactured.

Figurehead was born to channel that ethos. Each guitar is carved by hand, as it was done in the electric era’s dawn, without automation, without shortcuts, and with a reverence that borders on ritual. No CNC machines. No sterile lines. Only honest materials, shaped slowly, with care and command.

Every instrument is finished in nitrocellulose lacquer, then aged gently, deliberately, until it bears the scars of a life already lived. They emerge not flawless, but familiar, as if they’ve traveled far before finding you. Worn. Resonant. Restless.

Figurehead Guitars is based in the northern reaches of Los Angeles.. A quiet workshop hidden in the sprawl. If you seek an instrument not built, but conjured… an extension of your voice, bound in wood and wire… reach out. Let us begin the work.
